Environmental hazards

Learn more about what we test for.

Chipping paint on house exterior

Lead

Lead-based paint is present in roughly 83% of all private housing and becomes hazardous when chipped or unsettled, causing long-lasting health effects. AEC performs inspections and assessments compliant with Colorado regulations.

Black mold on wall inside home

Mold

Mold growth can cause serious damage to structural elements in your home and its presence may not always be apparent. Persons exposed can have severe reactions and health problems. AEC tests for all different types.

Water sample for testing

Water

Ground water can be categorized into different levels of cleanliness and severity of contamination. AEC follows EPA procedures to measure these levels and risk to health.

Radon pvc pipe on exterior of house

Radon

The EPA recommends testing for radon levels in all homes and schools as it is estimated to be the second leading contributor to lung cancer. Radon can get into any building through cracks in construction joints, gaps around pipes, wall cavities, and more.
